A group calling itself the Coalition of Unemployed Graduate Nurses Assistants, Clinical and Preventive in the Northern Region on Tuesday demonstrated against the government in Tamale over what they call the selective posting of nurses.
The aggrieved unemployed nurses say there is no indication that they will be posted anytime soon despite several calls on the government to do so.
The jobless nurses with red armbands marched through the Tamale township wielding placards with inscriptions such as ‘Post us now! ‘Our skills are fading,’ ‘You have children like us,’ ‘We are disappointed in Nana Addo’s government.’
According to them, they have lost some colleagues out of frustration and the stark hardship they faced each day.
The Northern zone Vice President of the coalition, Mengmi Francis told Starr Fm the government must consider their well-being as citizens and act now.
The Northern Regional Coordinator of the RCC, Alhaji Alhassan Issahaku who received their petition on behalf of the government assured to forward it to the rightful offices for a possible solution.
