Police officer, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, who’s being held for the murder of a lady said to be his girlfriend at Adum in Kumasi has confessed to killing her over ₵5K debt she owed him while in they were in a relationship.
Police prosecutor ACP Mr. Kofi Blagodzi told the court the suspect confessed committing the murder to the police after the late Maa Adwoa refused to return 5,000 cedis.
The Asokore Mampong district court in Kumasi has on Tuesday April 25, 2023 remanded Inspector Ahmed Twumasi into police custody to reappear on 30th may 2023.
The embattled Police officer reportedly shot his girlfriend six times to death on Thursday, 20th April 2023 at Adum in Kumasi.
The Police on Sunday evening arrested Inspector Ahmed Twumasi.
The suspect, who was on the run since the incident was arrested at Sekyere, near Effiduase in the Ashanti region as a result of a special police operation, which was launched following the shooting incident.
