Fire destroys 350 wooden structures at CMB

A fire that ravaged the neighborhood on Sunday morning damaged at least 350 wooden structures in the slum behind the Cocoa Marketing Board (CMB) and COCOBOD in Accra's Central Business District.

The 5:00 a.m. fire destroyed deep freezers, ovens, and light poles in addition to thousands of Ghana cedis worth of personal property.

There were no casualties reported. The tragedy unexpectedly became a field day for scrap traders who combed through the rubble in search of metal and other resources.
