Stay alert, prevent government from passing harsh policies - Mahama to NDC MPs

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has called upon the Minority in Parliament to resist any potential efforts by the government to impose additional hardship on Ghanaians in the lead-up to the December polls.

Mr. Mahama emphasized that the Minority holds a pivotal role in preventing the government from implementing policies that would burden the citizens.

Speaking to Minority MPs in Ho, located in the Volta Region, John Mahama asserted that it is imperative to halt the government from causing distress to the people.

He stated, "Your return is opportune and timely, as it accords you an opportunity to maintain even greater vigilance and oversight over a government that is becoming increasingly desperate and, with no doubt, attempting to ramp Draconian policies down the throats of Ghanaians."

"Based on what we have witnessed thus far, I am confident in saying that you in the Minority have met the expectations of the majority of Ghanaians," he added.

Mr. Mahama's remarks underscore the need for the Minority to remain steadfast in their commitment to safeguarding the well-being of the populace amidst potential government actions.
