CLAIM: Ho, Ketu North and Hohoe Municipalities have already been provided warehouses under the one million dollar per constituency policy
VERDICT: Half Truth (Four Stars)
This claim is rated as half-truth and given four stars. Yes, the governing NPP has constructed warehouses but not in all the municipalities mentioned by the party
BACKGROUND:
The NDC on Thursday June 25, 2020 convened a press briefing where it assessed the performance of President Akufo Addo’s administration in the Volta Region. At that event, the NDC stated that the NPP has only fulfilled 3 out of 17 promises made to the region. The opposition party scored the Akufo Addo led administration 17%. On 29th June 2020, Volta Regional chairman of the NPP Makafui Woanyah addressed a news conference in response to the one organized by the NDC. The NPP said government has delivered 72% of promises made to the region, naming the construction of warehouses in Ho, Ketu North and Hohoe Municipalities under the one million dollar per constituency policy as one of the achievements.
VERIFICATION:
In verifying this claim, Starrfmfactchecker relied on first-hand account from Starr News’ Volta Regional correspondent Faisal Abdul Iddrisu who visited the locations of these warehouses in the 3 municipalities mentioned by the NPP Regional chairman. In Ketu North municipality, there is indeed a completed warehouse opposite the municipal assembly on the Akatsi-Dzodze highway. The fenced light-green facility has been completed and is yet to be handed over to the constituency.

Checks by starrfm factchecker in the Hohoe Municipality showed that the project site for the warehouse used to be an industrial hub during the John Mahama administration where bolts and nuts for cars were produced. MCE for Hohoe Andrews Teddy Ofori confirmed that the location was where the warehouse is supposed to be. According to the MCE though work has started, the project is only 35% complete.
The third municipality where the NPP claims a warehouse has been established is Ho, the Volta Regional capital. A visit by Starrfmfactchecker to the project site, located at Ho-Deme on the Akoefe road showed an unfinished security post and foundation of the main construction. Although the project started in 2018, it has now been abandoned as seen in the image below.

CONCLUSION:
Evidence on the grounds point to the fact that while government has constructed a warehouse in the Ketu North Municipality, same cannot be said for the Ho Municipality. Checks at the site in Ho only show the foundation of the project which was put up about two years ago. The project has since been abandoned with weeds taking over. In the Hohoe Municipality, checks by starrfmfactchecker indicates that the project is only 35% complete, according to the Municipal Chief Executive of the area Andrews teddy Ofori. So based on the facts, starrfmfactchecker finds the claim by the NPP in the Volta Region that government has constructed warehouses in 3 municipalities as half-truth and therefore rated four stars. That is because the claims contain significant omissions and/or exaggerations and involves some factual error.
