Former Special Prosecutor Martin Alamisi Amidu has responded to comments by the presidency after accepting his resignation.

In a lengthy response, Mr Amidu described President Akufo-Addo as a president who took the presidential “oath while looking like the innocent flower of anti-corruption but being the mother serpent of corruption under it.”

He further described the Agyapa Royalties Transaction deal as the biggest corrupt deal in Ghana since the country’s independence in 1957.

Mr Amidu in his response also states that the letter from the presidency accepting his resignation and written by the President’s Secretary, revealed that neither the President nor his secretary had read the full 64-page report on the Agyapa deal to know that it contained very serious corruption and and corruption related offences.
