NPP’s E/R 1st Vice Chairman confirmed Abuakwa North MCE

The First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Eastern Region has received a 100 percent confirmation as the next Chief Executive of the Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly.

Alhaji Omar Bodinga was among the new nominees of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as released on Sunday, September 19 by the Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Dan Botwe.

At the voting held on his nomination on Friday, October 8, Alhaji Bodinga got an overwhelming ‘Yes’ from all 23 members of the Assembly.

He will be sworn in the coming week to begin work as the new MCE for Abuakwa North.

With this confirmation, both assemblies in the hometown of the President have confirmed their nominees with 100 percent endorsements.

Abuakwa South District on Tuesday, October 5 confirmed the first female nominee, Akosua Asabea Annoh, despite earlier protests by some NPP members at Apedwa.

These protesters had burnt party flags and locked up offices, claiming all DCEs have come from Kibi, the hometown of President Akufo-Addo since the creation of the district.
