NIA to start limited registration today

The NIA is scheduled to initiate a ten-day restricted restricted registration and issuance period for Ghana Cards in the eight regions from August 28.

This restricted exercise will expire on September 8, 2023, on Friday.

The NIA has received 484,000 blank cards from its technical partners, which has necessitated this move.

The NIA has divided the registration process into two phases to guarantee a smooth process.

The goal of the first stage is to add public sector employees to the government of Ghana payroll.

The second phase, which will start on September 11, 2023, will focus on Ghanaians who are first-time candidates and are 15 years of age or older.

People will also have the chance to update their names or dates of birth during Phase Two, as well as replace any lost, stolen, or destroyed Ghana Cards.

The second phase will start on Monday, September 11, 2023 for all Ghanaians aged 15 and above who have not yet applied for the Ghana Card, according to a statement released by the NIA on August 23. Under Phase Two, Ghanaians may, in compliance with the legislation, update their names or dates of birth at any of the 286 Operational Offices of the NIA located around the country that are providing free registration.

For families with five or more members who prefer to purchase the Ghana Card in order to bring the NIA team home to be registered for a cost, an unique mobile service has also been introduced.

With these services, households containing five or more Ghanaians and organizations including fifty or more Ghanaians can pay a fee to obtain registration services at a certain residence or place.

Each applicant for a home registration must pay GHC 150.00, while each applicant for an institutional registration must pay GHC 100.00 plus logistics charges.
