We are pleased to announce the reassignment of Dr. Stephen Amoah, Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso and Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, to the Finance Ministry as a new Deputy Minister. This decision, effective immediately, comes as a replacement for the late Deputy Minister, John Kumah, who passed away on March 7th.
In light of this reassignment, President Akufo-Addo has nominated Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, MP for Achiase, as the Deputy Minister Designate for the Ministry of Trade and Industry. This nomination aims to fill the gap left by Dr. Stephen Amoah at the Ministry.
Dr. Stephen Amoah brings a wealth of experience to his new role, with a background as a Finance & Investment Consultant and a Doctor of Philosophy in Actuarial Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), with a focus on Finance and Investment. He is also a Member of the African Parliamentary Union (APU) and serves on the Finance Committee in Parliament. Additionally, Dr. Amoah holds key positions within the Parliamentary Service Board and the Ghana Commercial Bank Board of Directors.
His previous roles include serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) at the Office of the President, as well as a former Deputy National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Coordinator. Dr. Amoah's educational background includes a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Financial Management from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom, a BSc. in Computer Science from KNUST, and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from MIT in the US.
