Driver sustain head injuries in accident at Kansaworodo Junction

We commend the swift response of the firefighters from the Sekondi Metro Station who promptly attended to an accident at Kansaworodo Junction. The incident involved a DAF XF long vehicle, registered under number GN 1294-21, transporting a 40-foot container of cooking oil.

Regrettably, the driver sustained head injuries and was expeditiously transported to Fijai Hospital for medical attention. The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) received the distress call at 12:36 pm, and ADO II Kenneth Agbavor efficiently led a team to the scene, arriving at 12:43 hours.

Upon arrival, the crew discovered the overturned truck, with petrol seeping onto the road and nearby drains. Their immediate application of foam compound effectively mitigated the risk of ignition, averting a potential disaster.

As investigations into the cause of the road crash are underway, we acknowledge the dedicated efforts of the firefighters and their crucial role in ensuring public safety. We urge all road users to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent such unfortunate incidents.
