Police to screen recruitment applicants from Thursday

The Ghana Police Service has announced that screening for all applicants interested in service as law enforcement officers will start on Thursday, November 4.

The screening exercise, which will be for a one-week period, is for General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen, Graduates-General and Graduate Professionals.

“The date for the screening of Medical Professionals and Lawyers will be communicated later,” a statement issued by the Service on Tuesday, November 2 said.

Applicants have been asked to report to the screening centers with a proof of registration, birth certificate, junior high school (JHS) certificate and other appropriate certificates for categories applied for.

“Applicants are expected to report to their assigned centers unaccompanied.”

Last month, the recruitment exercise for the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) and Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) became chaotic as hundreds lined up to try their luck on being enlisted.

GIS used the El Wak Sports Stadium and the University of Ghana Stadium for the exercise in Accra while the Fire Training School in Jamestown was the venue for the GNFS screening.

Taking a cue from the other security agencies, the Ghana Police Service has advised applicants to “strictly adhere to the scheduled date and time to avoid overcrowding and chaos at the screening centres”.

“Applicants who fail to abide by the reporting protocols will be disqualified.”
