Anyone who displays political materials at stadium will be arrested – Sports Authority warns

The National Sports Authority (NSA) has recently issued a stern warning to individuals and groups intending to display political materials or engage in political protests during the upcoming Black Stars match against Sudan. The announcement comes in response to reports indicating plans by certain groups to utilize the event as a platform for protests, particularly against illegal mining (galamsey) and the government.

It is important to note that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) strictly prohibits political displays at sports events. As such, the NSA has emphasized that security forces will be deployed in and around the Accra Sports Stadium to enforce this rule.

In light of these developments, fans attending the game are strongly urged to comply with all match-day security regulations in order to avoid arrest or penalties. The Authority has underscored the necessity of maintaining the focus on football and preventing any political agenda from overshadowing the event.

It is imperative that all stakeholders, including fans, organizers, and participants, uphold the principles of sportsmanship and respect the regulations set forth by governing bodies such as CAF. By doing so, we can ensure that the upcoming match is a celebration of sports and unity, free from any form of political interference.

Let us come together to support our national team in a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship, and make the upcoming match a memorable and successful event for all involved.
