Sit up, the economy is bad – Mahama to Akufo-Addo

Former President John Dramani Mahama has told the Akufo-Addo administration to up its game in dealing with the hardships Ghanaians are saddled with at the moment.

Mr Mahama noted that times are hard for Ghanaians.

The economy, in his view, is not doing well hence, the destitutions.

Speaking on TV XYZ on Tuesday November 9 as part of his tour of the Greater Accra region, Mr Mahma said “I think that this government has to sit up.”

The three-time leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) began this tour to thank Ghanaians for their votes during the 2020 elections on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in the Upper East Region.

He has since toured 15 regions, wrapping up with the latest in the nation’s most populous region.

Incidentally, Mr Mahama beat all 11 candidates in the Region but his 1,326,489 votes were not enough to win him the national tally as incumbent Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo won it.

Though Mr Mahama had challenged the results in court, it was never to be as his suit was unanimously dismissed by the Supreme Court.

The former president is expected to wrap up his tour with a special address on Wednesday evening.
