A police vehicle transporting suspects from Damongo in the Savannah Region to Tamale in the Northern Region was on Monday night involved in an accident on the Fufulso-Damongo highway.
Some suspects were being taken to Tamale for Damongo when the accident occurred at Tailorpe around Busunu.
Seven suspects and eight police officers were onboard the vehicle with registration number GP 516.
They sustained various degrees of injury.
After being rushed to the hospital for medical care, the suspects have been returned to the cells, at the Busunu Police Station.
According to reports, the accident was by the police vehicle hitting a middle-aged woman.
Warning shots could be heard after the vehicle crashed.
