FDA warns public about three unapproved products

The FDA has warned the general public to avoid consumption of three water products produced by the company Samdoe Enterprises situated at Community 18, Spintex road, Accra, Ghana.

This comes after the company was shut down due to a lack of compliance with safety and quality standards in the manufacturing process.

Products include Perfect Ice Drinking Water; Aqua Link Drinking Water; and Leaders Drinking Water.

The Office's Inspection Team found serious safety and quality problems, like working in an inappropriate wooden building, open sewers with algae and fungi, dirty filters and no pest control plan, according to a press release from the Office on Wednesday.

It is therefore advised that the public should not consume the above-mentioned unregistered brands.

It is strongly recommended that those who have purchased these products cease their use and dispose of them promptly. Additionally, retailers and distributors are advised to recall all of these brands from the marketplace.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommended that consumers exercise caution and select products that have been properly registered.
