NPP supporters protest Special Congress proposal

A few New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters gathered at the Alisa Hotel in Accra to voice their discontent with the Special Electoral College's plans for next month's National Congress.

The Congress will be held in all 16 regions as planned, just as it was in 2014.

Five candidates will remain when the Congress narrows the field of flagbearer candidates for the contest on November 4.

The candidates, according to the sources, want to speak to the delegates in order to solicit additional votes.

Although some of the candidates had already denied this, the protesting supporters' posters supported the earlier reports.

Alisa Hotel is the location of the Steering Committee meeting.

The Committee is meeting with all of the candidates and their representatives, so it is uncertain what final decision it will make.
