The Deputy Minister of Defence, Kofi Amankwa-Manu, recently led a team from the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the Ministry of Defence to inspect the progress of construction works on Twelve Forward Operating Bases (FOB) and Three Logistics Centres in the Northern region of Ghana. These facilities, when completed, will serve as a significant boost to Ghana's border security against potential terrorist attacks.
The need for improved border security was highlighted last year when hundreds of displaced nationals from Burkina Faso entered Ghana through the northern borders. The government is taking this issue seriously and is committed to strengthening surveillance at the borders.
Mr Amankwa-Manu, who is also the lawmaker for Atwima Kwanwom, assured Ghanaians that the government is actively working to improve border security. The construction of these FOBs and Logistics Centres is a testament to the government's commitment to safeguarding Ghana's borders against any potential threats.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that the government is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that Ghana's borders are secure. The construction of these facilities is just one of many steps being taken to ensure that Ghana remains safe and secure.
The government's efforts to improve border security are commendable. The construction of these FOBs and Logistics Centres will undoubtedly strengthen Ghana's borders against any potential terrorist attacks. It is our hope that the government will continue to invest in measures aimed at ensuring the safety and security of all Ghanaians.
