Over 9,000 teachers fail 2023 licensure exams



The 2023 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) 2&3 results have been announced by the National Teaching Council (NTC), revealing that out of the 20,181 teachers who sat for the exam, a significant number of 9,556, which is over 30%, have failed to meet the pass mark.


According to the NTC, the results will officially be released on Thursday, December 21, 2023. The Council stated that 10,625 teachers, representing 52.6% of the total candidates, passed the exams.


In a statement, the NTC announced that the results will be available for candidates to check on its website using their unique examination pins. It was also mentioned that candidates can access their results using their phone numbers and examination index numbers. Additionally, candidates are advised to print their provisional certificates after checking their results.


The total number of candidates who participated in the examination was 20,181, with 10,625 (52.6%) passing and 9,556 (47.4%) failing to meet the required standard.
