21 killed in fatal accident on Kumasi-Accra highway



We are deeply saddened to report on a tragic incident that occurred on the Kumasi-Accra highway, resulting in the loss of 21 lives and leaving several others injured. The collision, which took place on Friday night, involved a Sprinter bus and a mini-bus on the Breku stretch of the road in the Ashanti Region.


Eyewitness accounts suggest that the collision was triggered by one of the drivers, who was allegedly speeding and attempting a wrongful overtaking maneuver. This reckless behavior led to a devastating head-on collision, claiming the lives of 14 individuals at the scene, including both drivers. Additionally, seven more individuals succumbed to their injuries at the Juaso and Konongo Government Hospitals.


Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those who have tragically lost their lives in this heartbreaking incident. The deceased have been transferred to Konongo Government Hospital, while survivors are currently receiving medical attention for their injuries.
