We are pleased to announce that the Ghana Football Association has officially appointed Otto Addo as the head coach of the Black Stars. This decision comes after a rigorous recruitment process, during which Otto Addo emerged as the top candidate and secured a three-year contract with the team.
In a statement released on Friday, March 15, 2024, the GFA expressed their confidence in Otto Addo's abilities and commended his performance during the interview process. According to the President of the GFA, Simeon-Okraku, Otto Addo stood out among a pool of highly qualified coaches and impressed the search committee with his vision for transforming the team.
President Simeon-Okraku stated, "Otto was exceptional in the interview process and was rated highly by the search committee, hence the decision. There were some brilliant individuals among the coaches who applied for the job, so the committee took the pain to interview a chunk of them to pick their thoughts on their intentions to transform the team within a short period of time due to our peculiar situation. The Committee was overly satisfied with Otto’s performance for which reason he was recommended to the Executive Council for approval."
This marks Otto Addo's second tenure as the head coach of the Black Stars, following his previous leadership from March 2022 to November 2022. Notably, under his guidance, the team successfully qualified for the World Cup held in Qatar. Despite their exit at the group stage, Otto Addo's impact was evident, and his re-appointment reflects a continued belief in his coaching capabilities.
