Otto Addo names squad for Nigeria, Uganda friendlies

Ghana’s Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, has announced the 24-man squad that will represent the country in upcoming friendly matches against Nigeria and Uganda.

The squad includes new faces such as David Akologo, who plays in Bolivia, Ibrahim Osman from Nordsjaellands, Nathaniel Adjei based in France, and Diomande Mohammed from Rangers of Scotland. These players, along with Frederick Asare from Asante Kotoko, have earned their debut call-ups due to their outstanding performances for their respective clubs.

The upcoming friendly games, set to take place in Marrakech, Morocco, mark the beginning of a new era under coach Otto Addo. The return of Brighton and Hove Albion right-back Tariq Lamptey to the squad after recovering from injury adds depth and experience to the team.

Additionally, the inclusion of players such as left-back Patrick Kpozo, winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and midfielder Edmund Addo demonstrates the coach's commitment to building a well-rounded team.

Key players like captain Andre Ayew, forward Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Osman Bukari, Samed Abdul Samed, and Elisha Owusu have also been named in the squad, bringing a mix of experience and youthful talent.

The friendly matches against Nigeria and Uganda will provide an opportunity for the team to test its strength and build cohesion ahead of future competitions.

Ghana is set to face Nigeria on Friday, March 22, followed by a match against Uganda four days later. These fixtures will serve as crucial preparation for the team as they look to make an impact in upcoming tournaments.
