Fan Milk PLC has issued a public apology for the significant traffic congestion caused by a road accident involving one of its third-party logistics partners on Saturday, January 25, 2025. The incident occurred on the Achimota-Tesano overhead bridge, resulting in considerable delays for motorists.
The accident involved a truck operated by Adwenpa Transport Services Limited. Importantly, the truck was not carrying any Fan Milk products at the time of the incident. While the truck toppled, blocking a lane and causing significant traffic disruption, Fan Milk is relieved to report that there were no injuries or fatalities, and no damage to other vehicles.
In a statement released by the company, Fan Milk expressed deep regret for the inconvenience caused to commuters and residents. They emphasized that Adwenpa Transport Services Limited is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the accident. The company is also working diligently to expedite the removal of the truck to restore normal traffic flow on the busy Achimota-Tesano route.
“Adwenpa is collaborating with the authorities to review this unfortunate incident. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused road users, the community, and motorists using this route,” the statement read.
Preliminary reports suggest that the truck driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, escaped unharmed. Eyewitness accounts indicate that the driver attributed the accident to another vehicle suddenly crossing his path, forcing him to swerve and ultimately lose control. However, a full investigation is underway to determine the precise cause of the accident.
Fan Milk PLC reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of its operations and reaffirmed its partnership with Adwenpa Transport Services Limited, highlighting their collaborative efforts to prevent similar incidents in the future. The company continues to monitor the situation and will provide further updates as they become available.
