Gold for Oil program stabilizes petroleum product prices – Akufo-Addo

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has declared to the nation that the economic situation in the country is improving and will improve in the near future.

The strength of the domestic currency relative to the major trading currencies, he claimed, is already stable in the country.

He continued by saying that programs like the Gold for Oil project have helped to stabilize fuel prices.

The President stated, "I will be remiss if I do not deal about the economic hardships that have beset our country in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak, whose repercussions have been made worse by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in his Eid al Adha statement on Wednesday, June 28. Yet, this government has persisted in upholding its significant policy commitments.

The free SHS education has been maintained by us. Drone deliveries of essential medications to remote and in needed regions have been maintained by us.

The One District One Factory policy, the Zongo Development Fund, the construction of new roads and repairs to existing ones, and another initiative called Planting for Food and Employment have all been maintained.

"The price of petroleum goods has been stable recently thanks to the Gold for Oil initiative, which is also bringing down inflation, and the currency has recently experienced some stability. I can promise that things are improving and will continue to improve.
