Tanker drivers strike over road conditions.

Ghanaian fuel tanker drivers have announced a strike over the country's terrible roads.

Monday, June 26th, marked the beginning of the strike.

According to drivers working in the Tema Heavy Industrial area, they won't transport fuel until the roads are given to a contractor, TV3's George Kwening said on Monday.

One of the tanker drivers, Dr. George Nyaonu, stated, "We are not asking they should fix the road totally but we want to see equipment on the road then we can relax ourselves a little bit that indeed, they have begun doing something."

According to Kwening, the strike is having an effect on the enclave's traders' ability to conduct business.

Following the strike, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and gasoline are likely to be in short supply.
