Black Stars arrive in Libya for crucial AFCON qualifier against Sudan

The Black Stars have landed in Benina, Libya, ahead of their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan. This highly anticipated match marks the second meeting between the two teams, with their previous encounter in Accra resulting in a 0-0 draw.

Sudan, facing challenges in hosting games due to ongoing political instability, has selected Libya as their temporary home venue. The Ghanaian team arrived at Benina International Airport on Sunday morning and is now preparing for the upcoming match, eager to secure their first win in the qualifiers after two draws and a defeat in their opening three matches.

In preparation for Tuesday's game, the Black Stars will conduct a pre-match training session at the Martyrs of February Stadium on Monday. This fixture holds significant importance for Ghana's AFCON aspirations, as they currently occupy the third position in Group F with two points, trailing Sudan by two points and group leaders Angola by seven.

The outcome of this match could have a substantial impact on Ghana's qualification prospects. A victory would not only reinvigorate their campaign but also propel them to second place in the group standings. Conversely, a loss would further complicate their path to qualification. With kick-off scheduled for 1:00 p.m. GMT, the Black Stars are acutely aware of the stakes at hand and are fully focused on delivering a strong performance.

As the Black Stars gear up for this pivotal encounter, all eyes will be on their quest to secure a vital victory and enhance their position in the AFCON qualifying campaign.
